Using CAD to create shapes, and the laser cutter machine for a rapid, accurate finish on the Leather.
These shapes are then slotted together and then hand sewn together.

Digital Draping is a new way of designing silhouettes as well as creative pattern cutting, that I acquired during my MA.
By projecting inspirational imagery onto the body and marking the lines out, you create new seam lines.
I found Digital Draping very useful not only for designing but also for print placements on the body.

Exploring new techniques to create structured silhouettes. By making a mould and draping buckram over it applying the paste to keep it's shape.



Documentation of process. Designing the sleeve shape on CAD with the CNC machine, creating the sleeve mould.

This project is a hybrid of traditional craftsmanship and innovative technique, shape and material.
Using the traditional hand woven basket techniques of Camacha in Madeira, transferring these skills creating new dynamic silhouettes.
